Top Jewellery Trends For Spring 2019

men’s silver rings

The warm weather came out in full force over the Easter weekend giving many of us a taste for sunshine and blue skies, which means it is time to ditch winter accessories and step into spring fashion.

Here are some jewellery trends that are set to be huge over the next few – and, hopefully, sunny – months.

  • Pearls

While pearls might be one of the most timeless pieces of jewellery, this season they will become even bigger. Spiral pearl earrings will be particularly popular, while pearl bracelets will add an elegant touch to an outfit.

Channel your inner Audrey Hepburn and jazz up your spring ensemble with a pearl necklace, or simply add a pair of pearl studs to casual jeans and T-shirt combo to smarten up your look.

  • Signet rings

If you thought signet rings were well and truly out, you’d be wrong, as both guys and girls will be donning these accessories over spring. These are most popular in yellow gold, and you can either choose to have an initial inscribed on yours, or a date or symbol that is important to you.

  • Shells

For a really fresh summery look, incorporate shells into your jewellery collection. Not only are they a reminder of fun on the beach, but they are a symbol of nature, which is always popular in spring/summer fashion.

Choose pearlised shells on drop earrings, as part of a necklace or charm bracelet for a hippy chic look.

  • Over-the-top long earrings

The catwalk was full of statement earrings recently, with models wearing earrings longer than you can imagine. Stella McCartney was a particular fan of lengthy drop earrings with a fringe effect, whether in gold, beads or even paperclips!

Valentino’s show also included dramatic long earrings, while Louis Vuitton favoured the statement earring on one ear look.

Huge hoops were popularised by Valentino, Altuzarra and Christian Dior, while designers also featured chunky earrings, multiple piercings, and over-sized plastic shapes on the runways. Basically, this season, the bigger your earrings, the better!

If you are thinking of adopting this trend, keep your outfit simple so it doesn’t clash with your jewellery.

  • Glass

While precious stones will always be on trend, you might want to add some glass jewellery to your collection. Blown glass knot rings or simple bands are especially popular, as they can be found in a variety of colours and brighten up an outfit.

They feel fresh and new and complement more expensive jewellery, such as men’s silver rings, well without over-dominating.

  • Anklets

In the summertime, most of us ditch our jeans and tights in favour of shorts, skirts or dresses. This can only mean one thing – it’s time to accessorise our feet with anklets.

Whether you’re dressing for the beach or in the office, silver chain anklets suit any occasion and can add a stylish and delicate touch to your look. So luxurious is this piece of jewellery that you do not necessarily need pendants, or even bold shoes to make your feet stand out.
